Turfgrass students highlight internship at Bellerive CC

This past week at Aggie Turf Club, Texas A&M Turfgrass Science students Calvin Wilson, Davis Wagner, and Chandler Simental presented on their summer internships at Bellerive Country Club in St. Louis, MO.  The three were actively involved in course management, preparation and setup for the 100th PGA Championship.  The course is comprised of creeping bentgrass greens, zoysiagrass fairways, and tall fescue roughs

Turf Club holds end of semester outing

The 4th annual Aggie Turf Cup Spring Scramble was held April 4. Texas A&M turfgrass students, faculty and staff gathered at The City Course at Phillips Event Center in Bryan for an end of semester golf tournament. The event a best-ball format for two-man teams. Congratulations to the winning team of Davis Wagner and Zach Godfrey! Best of luck to all Texas A&M Turfgrass students as they head off for summer internships or jobs!  

Mack Bostick speaks to Aggie Turfclub

Mack Bostick was the guest speaker at Aggie Turf Club this week.  Mack is a Technical Product Manager with Winfield United.  Mack shared with students about careers in the company as well as the new GeoTech Tool for mapping golf course and sports field turf health/performance.

Turfgrass Students participate in Big Event

The Big Event is the largest one-day, student run service project in the nation. Thousands of Texas A&M students come together each spring to show their appreciation to the community through acts of service. Since its inception in 1982, The Big Event has provided over 877,000 service hours and served more than 2,400 residents. Aggie Turf students volunteer

Aggie Turf Club students recently volunteered during advance week for the PGA Dell Match Play event at Austin Country Club.  Students worked closely with superintendent Bobby Stringer and PGA agronomists in helping to prepare the course for the upcoming tournament.
