Members of the Aggie Turf Club attended the Golf Industry Show in San Antonio in early February. They had the opportunity to attend educational sessions, learn about new technologies, meet potential employers, and compete in the John Deere Collegiate Turf Bowl Competition.  The event is put on annually by the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America.

Five Texas Aggie turfgrass science students travelled to Fort Worth in mid January to attend the Sports Turf Managers Association Conference and compete in the 2018 STMA Student Challenge. The team – Kirstin Burnett, Syed Ahmed, Brett Martin, Sam Irwin and Jonathon Wolfe, placed 5th out of 25 teams. The STMA Student Challenge, presented in partnership with the SAFE Foundation, Founding Partner Hunter Industries and supporting sponsor Ewing,  challenges the students’ knowledge of the sports turf industry.

Aggie Turf Club students recently volunteered their time and efforts taking part in the Texas A&M Turfgrass Field Day. Thanks to students Sam Irwin, Jose Polanco, Syed Ahmed, Kaitlyn Tanner, Calvin Wilson, Ryan Earp, and Scott Gee for helping make it a great day!
