Fall 2021 kicks off with a putting competition and presentations

The 2021-22 Aggie Turfgrass Club kicked off the fall semester on September 21, with an 18-hole putting competition on the newly created putting course at the Scotts turfgrass lab in College Station. The course was designed and constructed by the students in the SCSC 427-Sports Field Construction course, using Lazer zoysiagrass. Aggie Turfgrass Club meeting February 25, 2020

Weston Appelfeller, CSFM and Director of Grounds for the Austin FC MLS soccer club was the guest speaker at Aggie Turf Club today. He shared with the students about the vision and construction progress being made to build the new facility that will be home to Austin FC, which will officially join the MLS in spring 2021. Oct. 16, 2019 meeting

Damian Micahlewicz and Bailey Simmons presented information about their summer internship at the October 16 meeting of the Aggie Turf Club. The pair spent the summer at the Boot Ranch Golf Club in Fredericksburg, TX.

April 9 Turfgrass Club Meeting

Jim Thomas, owner of Thomas Turf Services, was the guest speaker at the April 9 Aggie Turf Club meeting. Thomas owns and operates a lab specializing in soil physical testing for golf courses and sports turf fields. He shared some of his insights into the turfgrass industry as well as some of the most common issues that come in to his lab.
