Students discuss internships at October 23 meeting

Summer internships provide hands-on skills that reinforce information students learn in the classroom. Turfgrass Science students have a wide array of experiences from which to select.

James Kimberly discusses his internship at Landscapes Unlimited LLC.

This summer James Kimberley chose to work with Landscapes Unlimited LLC, a company which constructs and operates golf courses and sports fields across the United States. The company has built or renovated more than 1,800 golf courses and currently operates/manages more than 60.

James had the opportunity to travel to different states, assisting in the reconstruction of both golf courses and sports fields.

Jonathan Wolf spent his summer at Longwood Cricket Club in Chestnut Hill, MA., one of the world’s oldest tennis clubs.

Founded as a cricket club in downtown Boston in 1877, Longwood began to transition to tennis the following year when the first lawn tennis court was added. They moved to Chestnut Hill in 1922.
